Homo Sedens Revisited: Is sitting the new smoking?

Feedback from my latest webinar with the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors was positive. Sit-stand working in offices ┬áis something we all need a view on to brief our clients. A view based on scientific evidence, of course. I was delighted that 114 people from all over thew world attended the event and even more delighted to see a new use for some of my old research from the 1980s and 1990s. I don’t think that sitting is the new smoking, but I do believe we need to go back to first principles in office design and consider whether there really is a requirement for people to sit all day.
